Product updates

What's new in Medilee.

A monthly round-up of what we have shipped as we build the product around real caseloads. Newest first.

August 2026

A literature library, automatic case setup, and built-in QA

This month brings a medical literature library you can cite while refining a report, automatic identification of the referral and report type so each case is set up correctly from the start, and an automated quality check on every report. Alongside these are steadier document conversion and a smoother review.

New
Medical literature library

Bring medical literature into Medilee and cite it directly while refining a report, with library administration across your organisation.

Reference specific chapters or pages

Analyse a literature document and reference just the chapter or page range you need, not the whole work.

Automatic referral identification

Medilee identifies the referral document for you, or you can set it, and brings the referral details together in one place.

Report type detection

Medilee determines the report type before the case summary is generated, so the output follows the right format from the start. You can also set it yourself.

Automated report QA review

Every report gets an automated quality check, so issues are caught before it goes out.

Report templates by report type

Platform administrators can tailor report layouts to each report type.

Improvements
  • Step straight from one flagged page to the next during review, instead of searching for them.
  • Document conversion preserves line breaks and handles more files cleanly.
  • Scanned pages are automatically straightened before conversion, improving text accuracy.
  • When you tag literature, Medilee shows how large the tagged set is, so you know the volume before analysis.
  • Manage your practice subscription from a direct link in the app.
  • The automated QA review instructions now sit out of the way during review.
  • More default report template options.
Reliability and fixes
  • Cited sources in case search are highlighted using the reviewed version of the document.
  • Report templates fill in the case's assessment location automatically.
  • Reference text is matched more accurately across lists.
  • Select-all in the literature list now applies only to items matching the current filter.
  • The editor handles markdown tables more reliably.
  • Document names with special characters display correctly in the reviewed documents list.
  • Case status labels are aligned consistently.
  • Ongoing performance and reliability improvements.
July 2026

Bigger files, and a clearer view of your work

This month is about handling the largest referral files with room to spare, and giving specialists and administrators a clear picture of what is happening across their cases.

New
Support for the largest referral files

Open and analyse even the biggest files without hitting a wall.

Dashboards for specialists and practices

See turnaround, volume and workload at a glance, with a separate overview for platform administrators.

Jump-to navigation

Move straight to any section of the case summary or report instead of scrolling through it.

Audit logs

A full record of what happened and when, so you can always show how a report was prepared.

Configurable data retention

Set how long data is kept to match your own policy.

Review flags after document conversion

Pages that need a human eye after a file is converted are flagged for a quick check.

Improvements
  • Case search now sits in a sticky header, so you can find any case without scrolling.
  • The referrer's questions are captured and separated more reliably, so each one is answered cleanly.
  • Clearer document conversion and rendering, and a tidier editor.
June 2026

Sharper citations and steadier large files

More precise links back to the source, better handling of scanned documents, and smoother processing of very large case files.

New
More accurate source citations

Citations back to the source page are more precise, so verification is faster.

Better handling of scanned documents

Improved document conversion, including automatic rotation of pages that come in sideways.

Reliability and fixes
  • Very large case files are handled more smoothly and reliably.
  • Clearer status when a file cannot finish processing, instead of stalling silently.
  • Deleting a case file no longer closes the tab or window.
  • Fixed search highlighting across an indented list.
